Who is Mister Tuna?
Mister Tuna, Troy Guard’s much-anticipated 8th restaurant concept, opened on July 15, 2016 in the former produce market space fronting the INDUSTRY building in RiNo.
The menu at Guard’s new “neighborhood sanctuary” is inspired by his childhood days in Hawaii where his dad - Mister Tuna - cooked meals over a grill in the backyard. The wood fired grill works alongside the rotisserie that spins everything from local game to whole heritage hogs. This method showcases a style of cooking that brings people together in “Ohana” – the Hawaiian concept for family.
Mister Tuna’s beverage program, led by Nikki Guard, boasts an assortment of crafted signature cocktails utilizing seasonal ingredients. Novice and cocktail enthusiasts alike are sure to find a tipple to whet their whistle. The cocktail program is matched in interest by our well-traveled wine list. Our selection of eclectic sips are carefully curated to offer exceptional value and encourage discovery.
Inside the space, much of the original character has been preserved, highlighting its industrial history. The range of the bar houses multiple experiences, from the interactive Chef's counter, to the raw and preservation bar (where we're pickling and fermenting just about everything) to the cocktail lounge, where the liquid magic happens. The Tuna experience continues on our expansive street-side patio, where the sanctuary meets the city!
